Lt. Governor Dardenne Visited Eunice Today, Endorses Festival

Eunice, LA, November 18, 2014 -- Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne participated in a Festival Launch Event on the campus of LSU Eunice today.  The ceremony was held inside of the Community Education Building, with a ribbon cutting and balloon release on the festival grounds right outside.

The program opened with a welcome and introductions by Celeste Gomez, Executive Director of the St. Landry Parish Tourist Commission.  That was followed by an overview of the festival by Executive Committee members Dwight Jodon, Pat Dossman, Kelly Pitre, and Lynn LeJeune.  Next, Dr. William Nunez, Chancellor of LSUE, introduced Lt. Gov. Dardenne.

Dardenne's remarks were very complimentary of the project as it has been developed to this point.  He was pleased to point out that the planning has progressed very quickly and that the words "authentic" and "passion," a reference to the state's theme for this year:  PICK YOUR PASSION!  He offered his support and endorsement..

Organizers are extremely excited that support for the project continues to grow in significant ways.
