Eunice, LA, September 5, 2014 -- The Eunice Rotary Club, in close partnership with Louisiana State University at Eunice, is excited to announce the birth of a new, innovative event called the Experience Louisiana Festival. A passionate group of Rotarians agreed that Eunice is the perfect location for a statewide event that would focus on the four basic things that make Louisiana great: her music, food, arts/culture and people. From those early meetings in May 2014, a project emerged; one that would invite all regions of the state to not only "Come and See," but to "Come and BE" part of the event. With approval from the LSU System, the project is rapidly moving forward, attracting positive attention of communities, organizations, and individuals.
The primary components of the festival include: Music Main Stage, Musician's Village, Folklife Village, Artist's Village, Walk-Through Louisiana, and Film Village. Each of these areas of the festival are being developed in collaboration with a variety of local, state and regional agencies and organizations. The festival committee looks forward to providing updates as planning continues.
Other components will include Food Booths, Craft Village, Athletic Events, Classic Car Show, Poker Run, Bingo, Poster Competition, and others. Stay tuned for details as they become available.
