NEW COMPONENT!  We are thrilled to announce that LOUISIANA AGRICULTURE will be a major focus for the 2017 festival!  We will soon be announcing more participants, exhibits, demonstrations & activities!  STAY TUNED!

  • LSU AgCenter, Alexandria:  Corn, Cotton & Soybean Exhibit
  • SMOKEY BEAR  will be at the festival reading at the Ag Tent then will walk around the grounds visiting with guests.​​  Sat, Oct 28, 10:30am  |  Sun, Oct 29, 12:30pm
  • Louisiana Dutch Oven Society (LDOS) will demonstrate the art of dutch
    oven cooking. Members will discuss cleaning and seasoning of cast iron
    ​cookware, how to control temperatures and dutch oven recipes. They will
    ​also prepare Louisiana Style Bread Pudding onsite!

  • LSU AgCenterAgent Keith Hawkins will host FORESTRY SQUARES, a fun family game to challenge everyone's knowledge about forestry. Put together a three-person team and see how well you do. This game is based on the old TV game show Hollywood Squares.
  • Louisiana 4-H Food & Fitness Board & United Health Care 
    Come and have fun learning about food and nutrition. Get in some physical fitness by making smoothies on the blender bike and also make a My Plate bracelet.

  • St. Landry Parish 4-H Junior Leaders - LSU AgCenter
    Come and have fun decorating a pumpkin while also learning some interesting facts about pumpkins.

  • LSU AgCenter Assistant Extension Agent in Horticulture Chanelle Angeny will demonstrate how to get seeds to germinate through the activity Garden in a Glove. Seeds will be those of agriculture commodities grown in Louisiana. Children will be able to take the Garden in a Glove home with them.
  • Cajun Prairie Habitat Preservation Society will participate with a table exhibit.  The Cajun Prairie Habitat Preservation Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the study, preservation, restoration and education of the Cajun Prairie, an ecosystem that is one of the most threatened in Louisiana.
