Eunice, LA, April 24, 2015 -- Janice Fox, President of the Grand Coteau Cultural Foundation, announced today that the Town of Grand Coteau will join the WALK-THROUGH LOUISIANA component of the festival. Featured in the space will be the town's wildly popular Sweet Dough Pie Festival.
The festival is thrilled to have Grand Coteau as our first official participant in the Walk-Through. Discussions are ongoing with several other LA cities and we expect to announce more participants soon.
Grand Coteau is a town situated on what was, some two thousand years ago, the west bank of the Mississippi, not far from where it flows into the Gulf. It is called Grand Coteau, from its situation on a sloping ridge or “coteau” – not a lofty ridge, but a long one.The Grand Coteau Historic District is one of the few primarily rural districts on the National Register of Historic Places. WALK-THROUGH LOUISIANA is an area of the festival featuring LA cities, festivals, tourist centers and other tourism-related entities.
Festival guests will have the opportunity to stroll through, meeting folks from across the state, learning about different regions and events, and adding items to their "tourism bucket list!"
